The MAWRM degree allows for much versatility, and many of our graduates rise to leadership positions. See our where-are-they-now page for a list of jobs held by MAWRM alumni.

Graduates work in large corporations, small consulting firms, nonprofits, government agencies, and colleges and universities. For example, MAWRM graduates work for companies including IBM, Sapient, Fluor Corporation, TSYS, Microsoft, Booz Allen Hamilton, VIEW Digital Media, Verizon, and Carolinas Healthcare System, to name only a few. Graduates also work for a variety of two-year and four-year colleges and universities, including Armstrong Atlantic State University, Clemson University, Elon University, Miami University of Ohio, and Tri-County Technical College. Our alumni hold positions at nonprofits from Safe Harbor to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, as well as with companies that provide services to nonprofits, such as Blackbaud Inc. and Spitfire Strategies.

At left are some of the attendees on the industry-jobs panel. The alumni ranged from a 1998 graduate to a 2009 graduate and from web designers to writers to teachers. Our alumni are active participants in the MAWRM program and a valuable resource for our students. Many current students contact alumni regularly to seek career advice.

Many of our students also participate in the Society for Technical Communication. A group of MAWRM students began a student chapter at Clemson in 2008, and MAWRM students also participate in the local Upstate chapter. Through the STC, students can gain career advice from communicati on practitioners in their respective fields. The group also connects students with job opportunities and career development in the area.

The MAWRM program provides background in communication theory and practice that will allow our graduates to contribute in almost any workplace. Please see our alumni profiles for more information on the career success of MAWRM alumni.
