Congratulations to Kristin Buhrow (Anthropology and Chinese major)!
Senior Clemson student Kristin Buhrow, graduating in May 2016 with dual degrees in Anthropology and Modern Languages with an emphasis in Mandarin Chinese, has been selected to receive the University of Oxford’s Ertegun Graduate Scholarship in the Humanities. Offered to sixteen students across Oxford’s ten humanities institutes, the Ertegun Scholarship provides full financial support for all periods of the student’s graduate studies at the Master’s or Doctoral level, access to an office in the city center specifically for Ertegun Scholars, as well as membership in one of Oxford’s most exclusive academic communities. Buhrow will begin studying for a Masters of Philosophy in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies with Oxford’s Oriental Institute in the fall.
Congratulations to Dr. Gabriela Stoicea, Assistant Professor of German, on receiving the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching!
The Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching is given out every year to a tenured or tenure-track faculty member from the College of Architecture, Arts, and Humanities who has demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level within the past three years. Awardees are selected based on letters of support from students, alumni, or colleagues, as well as on a proven record of teaching excellence, which includes yearly evaluations by students and peers, syllabi, instruction materials, and tests.
