Dr. Holcombe’s primary research focuses on the history of illustrated editions of Don Quixote and the relationship between Cervantes and Catalonian artist Salvador Dalí. Other research interests include early-twentieth century U.S. Hispanisms and quixotic iconography in film and graphic novels. He has published in Latin America, the United States, and Israel, analyzing cultural production as framed by gender, masculinity, and disability studies, which represent his future approximations to Cervantes, Don Quixote, and Spanish Golden Age literature. He serves as Editor of H-Cervantes, Co-Editor of Laberinto Journal, and Editorial Assistant for Chasqui. He presently serves as Clemson’s Faculty Adviser for the local chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the only U.S. national Hispanic honor society.
