German

Position: Part time Lecturer of German

Starting Date:  August 15, 2017

The Department of Languages at Clemson University invites applications for the position of lecturer of German, to start August 2017 (instruction begins August 23, 2017). This is a time limited, part time, non-tenure track, nine-month teaching appointment.

Teaching load is two classes per semester; classes are held on Monday-Wednesday-Friday, with Tuesdays and Thursdays reserved for teaching preparation. The successful candidate will be able to teach German language courses (first through third year) and contribute to the German program. An interest in teaching Technical German is also beneficial.

Qualifications: 
Candidates should have an M.A. or higher in German or related field. Applicants should have experience teaching lower level German language classes. Native or near-native fluency in both German and English is required.

Spanish

Position:  Lecturer of Spanish

Starting Date:  August 15, 2017

Description: Lecturer of Spanish, a non-tenure track position. Responsibilities will include teaching elementary and intermediate Spanish courses, four courses per semester. Candidates who are qualified to teach Health in Spanish are encouraged to apply. Some service activities besides teaching are expected. Native or near-native language fluency is expected along with documentation of effective teaching.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required or expected by date of appointment on August 15, 2017.

Italian

Position: Assistant Professor of Italian,tenure-track

Starting Date: August 15, 2017

Description: The Department of Languages at Clemson University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Italian, tenure-track, begining Fall 2017. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in Italian Literature and contemporary popular culture. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, be able to teach courses in his/her specialty as well as Italian language courses at all levels, and demonstrate potential for excellence in research. Candidates will be expected to participate in advising of students and contribute to the Italian Language and International Trade program (a traditional Italian major with an added focus on international business). Also desirable is a willingness to organize cultural activities for students both in and outside of the classroom. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English are required. Position: Assistant Professor of Japanese, tenure-track
