Audio Curriculum

Coursework within the Audio Technology curriculum includes projects in MIDI sequencing, digital audio recording, mixing and effects processing, and music notation. Courses in acoustics, music technology, live sound reinforcement, and two advanced Audio Technology classes enhance the curriculum.

Additional courses in music theory and music history are complementary components of the Audio Technology track. The program strives to combine theory with real world application, and every student produces a CD in their senior capstone course.

Professional experience (and part-time employment) is available to advanced students and includes the use of the state-of-the-art Brooks Theatre as a living laboratory for Audio Technology projects, including recording concerts and managing sound for professional shows. Students also have opportunities to work at other venues and events around campus.
