Jeff Love is Professor of German and Russian. He has a Ph.D. in Russian literature from Yale University and a law degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. Jeff is interested in the classic Russian Novel, German Idealist philosophy and literary theory. He has written two books on Tolstoy, Tolstoy: A Guide for the Perplexed (Continuum, 2008), and The Overcoming of History in War and Peace (Rodopi, 2004). He has also published an annotated translation of F.W. J. Schelling’s Philosophical Investigations into the Essence of Human Freedom (State University of New York Press, 2006) with Johannes Schmidt as well as articles on Pushkin, Dostoevsky and the French philosopher Alain Badiou, among others.
