"Wer Visionen hat, sollte zum Augenarzt gehen."
Helmut Schmidt

Many of our students keep in touch after graduation. Some of our students are working in Germany. You may want to contact them to find out more about our program, chances on the job market, or keep in touch with old friends.

Future plans include furthering her education in International Business and hopefully someday transferring to one of MSC's offices in Europe. For questions, feel free to e-mail her at: ewersinger@msc.us.

ANGELA PATTERSON--German major (Dec. 2001), completed internship at Carl Zeiss Planetarium division through partnership between Clemson and the Fachhochschule Jena  (Technical Univ. of Jena) in Summer 2001; since graduation, she has worked for import/export company DXL Enterprises, for Tier 1 automotive supplier ZF Lemforder, and since 3 years has worked in Robert Bosch Group industrial division at Bosch Rexroth as a Direct Buyer sourcing hydraulic components.  With each of these companies she has been able to use her German language skills and cultural awareness, and she travels at least once per year to Germany on business. www.boschrexroth.com

MATT HEDLUND--German L&IT  (May 2007) German Club President during his Senior year.  After spending a summer in Kusey with Projekt Grossergrenzverkehr, Matthew graduated and is now working for Expeditors International as a Customs Brokerage Agent.  He is currently studying to pass the federal Customs Brokerage Exam and works with European branches in France, Germany, England, Switzerland, the Czech Republik, and Austria.  He is hoping to relocate to either NY or DE.

ALEXIA ANDREWS--"I was a Political Science Major with a minor in French and German. I have worked for Aldi for almost 5 years now. I spent a summer in East Germany with Projekt Weltoffenheit. I spent a year in at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland with a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. I am currently engaged to a German. I live in Asheville, NC."  Aldi website www.Aldi.com.

COURTNEY WITTSTRUCK--Currently works at Bosch LLC in Charleston, SC as a corporate trainer and internal consultant in lean manufacturing.  The Robert Bosch North American lean manufacturing training center is in Charleston, and is one of the instructors.  The center supports Bosch's lean manufacturing program for its 25,000+ North American associates.  Courtney says: "Although I don't use my German very often in the training center since the official language for Bosch North America is English, it definitely helps me develop a rapport with my German colleagues.  When I was in logistics, however, I used to speak only German with all of my German suppliers.  In fact, my German & IT major helped me get my original job with Bosch in logistics.  (I also spent a year right after college interning at Bosch in Nuernberg.)" "In addition to working full time, I have been pretty busy with graduate school. Last May, I completed my MBA at the Citadel. I am currently entering my second semester at the Charleston School of Law.  I am pursuing my J.D. at the School of Law and am taking classes in the evening.  Because I am going to school part-time, it will take me 4 years (instead of the usual 3) for me to get my J.D.  I am still working on general law courses, and haven't had to specialize yet, but I would like to eventually focus on International Law, and will hopefully have an opportunity to use more of my German." http://www.bosch.com http://www.citadel.edu/csba/acad/mba_index.shtml http://www.charlestonlaw.edu/
