Assistant Profesor of Italian
ITALIAN, Assistant Professor, full time, tenure track (8/15/08)
Ph.D. (or ABD with promise of completion by August 2008) in Modern Italian Literature and Italian Film. Preference given to candidates with specialty in one or more of the following areas: subaltern/colonial studies, ethnic or national identity, popular culture, business language. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English required. Teaching experience of minimum four years at undergraduate level expected. Previous experience with study abroad program, curriculum and material development as well as knowledge of instructional technologies and ability to teach a second language strongly desirable. A willingness to participate in the recruitment of language students and in extracurricular activities connected with the Italian program is expected, as is excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service.
