What would you be interested in doing?

 

Administrative- Diving into everyday details behind the scenes.

  • Send out bulk mailings to gallery list and smaller mailings to gallery friends
  • Update mailing lists, and other database files such as volunteer interest inventory, phone numbers etc..
  • Acquiring parking passes for individual visitors and large groups
  • Answer the phone, proof text, make installation labels
  • Make copies, hang flyers
  • Coordinate volunteer activities
 

Publicity- Public Relations - Getting the word where it needs to go.

  • Design gallery announcements/ flyers
  • Maintain web page with current information
  • Contact news organizations about exhibitions and public events
  • Update master calendar / arts daily calendar with gallery events
  • Send gallery information to Chambers of commerce and other information venues
 

Ambassadors: Be the friendly face.

  • Provide gallery talks to classes and interested groups
  • Public Art tours of the Art Partnership program and gardens projects
  • Meet and greet gallery visitors at receptions
  • Organize kids groups to visit campus
  • Thank you letters to special visitors
  • Membership development – campaign to recruit new members—distribute information
 

Special Events: Coordinate special public outreach programs

  • Help design, plan, set up, and staff special events such as art sales or auctions
  • Work with community leaders to get the word out
  • Plan and organize outreach activities
  • Plan, prepare or organize receptions
 

Collection Crew: Discover, research, distribute and steward the archives.

  • Conduct research on artists and works in collection
  • Track collection loan and returns
  • Work with other programs on campus interested in Loan program
  • Work with collection database to updating collection location and loans/
  • Digitizing works
 

Exhibitions Coordinators: Up close and personal with artworks, artists and installation process.

  • Unpack and pack works for exhibition and complete condition reports
  • Coordinate exhibition set up and strike needs
  • Facilitate Prep needs for exhibitions/ matt cutting/ slide scanning/ problem solving
  • Paint, fill nail holes/ move pedestals/ put up lettering + labels / install work
  • Maintain dialogue with artists on gallery needs and receipt deadlines
