Specializations and Courses
As you begin the MAPC program, you will select a specialization that will guide your choices of courses and thesis/project topics. Your specialization may change early in your time in the program, but you should have a firm choice in mind by the beginning of your second semester. See the specialization pages below for more information about each option. Rather than selecting one of these specializations, you may choose to create a custom specialization from courses in the specialization areas, courses offered by the program in other areas, and/or courses offered by other departments.
Based on your selected specialization and in consultation with your faculty advisor, you will choose classes to complete the 30 hours of coursework for the degree. Note that some required courses are offered only in fall or spring semesters. The timelines below will help you organize your planned courses into a three-semester or four-semester sequence so that you can stay on track towards graduation. You will find descriptions of current MAPC courses via the link below, and descriptions for upcoming courses are also posted prior to registration.
