Carly Finseth

Carly Finseth is a first-year student in the Master of Arts in Professional Communication (MAPC) program, specializing in digital publishing and technical writing. She has a BS in Liberal Studies from Oregon State University, where - among other things - she studied English, Writing, Communication, and Women's Studies.

With more than eight years of freelance writing and editing experience under her belt, Carly has ghostwritten books for the dating, gaming, and nonprofit industries and has served as senior editor on several writing projects. She often writes as an entertainment critic, blogger, and interviewer - and provides full-service writing, editing, and web design consulting services on a freelance basis. Her specialties include: creative non-fiction writing and editing, online publication management, and web design and template customization based off of the open source Joomla! CMS framework. Carly also serves as the Managing Editor/Publisher of the online magazine Empowerment4Women.

Carly plans to use her time at the MAPC program to delve into previously uncharted waters - such as audio/video editing, usability testing, teaching, and rhetorical studies. During her assistantship in the MATRF, she will be working with clients such as Clemson's study abroad program, Fluid Campus, and the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture.
