Roger started his 28th year in the department this fall semester. His teaching responsibilities this year include CSM 450 and PDBE 810 in the fall and CSM 861 and PDBE 820 in the spring. He continues to serve as Director of the Center for the Improvement of Construction Management and Processes and coordinates the master degree and certificate graduate programs. He also continues to coordinate the department’s internship portfolio requirement.
During the past year, Dr. Liska has been very active as Chair of the American Institute of Constructors Constructor Certification Commission, making presentations to various construction organizations and associations about the growth and value of constructor certification. He also continues to serve on the Board of Trustees of the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and is their representative to similar accreditation agencies in Canada, China and the United Kingdom. In addition, he is on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women in Construction Education Foundation and is External Examiner to the University of Limerick’s construction education program in Ireland.
Besides traveling to Ireland this past year, Dr. Liska has been invited to an international conference in Hong Kong in November and to present a paper on revitalization of communities utilizing locally trained disadvantaged youth and young adults. Dr. Liska continues to teach classes in the National Center for Construction Education and Research Construction Management Academies, serves on education committees of many national construction associations including the Associated General Contractors of America Education and Research Foundation. Finally, Dr. Liska is serving on a U.S. Government taskforce to develop a professional job career series for "Construction Managers."
