Ms. Hammett began her career in real estate in the mid-1980’s locating properties in transition and conducting appropriate research for acquisition and zoning changes. She has participated in renovation projects in Georgia and South Carolina with both principal and partnership interests. She was President of Capitol Title & Research Services, Inc., which provided full service abstract and research services for the real estate industry. Her company specialized in +40 year title searches for real estate closings, commercial projects, tax sales and eminent domain acquisitions. Ms. Hammett has provided research and professional services for municipalities, corporations, surveyors, appraisers, brokers and the legal profession. She is also a South Carolina Certified General appraiser and has completed appraisals for multiple property types including eminent domain projects, multi-family, LIHTC, as well as properties with retail, industrial and hospitality uses. She is pursuing her PhD in Planning, Design and the Built Environment specifically focusing on hazard mitigation and affordable housing solutions for the disadvantaged in flood prone areas. She has her BS in Real Estate from Marylhurst University and an MS in Environmental Policy and Management with Honors from American Public University.
