Past two years experience as a vessel planner for a global carrier steamship line. Worked in a department that handled all of the operations in the United States with costs in excess of $500 million per year. Personally planned and managed routine operations with costs averaging approximately $1.3 million per port call. Responsibilities included managing the safety of the vessel, crew, and cargo as well as keeping the vessel on a schedule and operating in the most efficient manner possible with an average fuel cost of $107,000 per day. Additional work experience as a student analyst in the power marketing group of Santee Cooper, South Carolina's Public Power Utility. Analyzed historical and current data to forecast short term power requirements; studied hourly energy markets to determine the most economic short term energy market transactions; and bought or sold energy depending on the current situation.
