Professor and CSM Endowed Faculty Chair
Dr. Dennis C. Bausman has remained active in teaching, research and service activities. Dennis continues in his role as the Construction Science and Management Endowed Faculty Chair, and earlier this year he was promoted to full Professor.
This past year, Dennis authored papers on Construction Site Security and Subcontractor Default Insurance. In addition, he developed the American Institute of Constructors Certified Professional Constructor Level 2 CPC Examination Preparation Course Instructor Guide. He was a featured speaker on Subcontractor Default Insurance for the American Subcontractor Association and the Construction Financial Manager Association in Nashville, Tenn., and conducted a webinar for ASA titled "Subcontractor Default Insurance: Risk Management Swan or Ugly Duckling." At the AIC Annual Forum this past spring in Chicago, Dennis served as moderator for the Ethics Panel Discussion and Roundtable. He is currently working on a Site Security Best Practices Guide and is pursuing research proposals concerning distance education and sustainable construction.
This past spring semester, in collaboration with Architecture faculty, Dr. Bausman pioneered a Design Build course involving both Architecture and CSM undergraduate students. In addition, he initiated and coordinated an AAH Lecture series for the Lee Hall Addition/Renovation project. The lecture series consisted of four collegewide presentations by the Owner, Designer and Contractor regarding Lee Hall design considerations, the contractor and architect selection process, sustainability system and material selection, and building information modeling.
Dennis continues to serve on the National Board of Directors for the American Institute of Constructors where he is also Chair of the AIC National Publications Committee. At AIC’s annual forum this past spring, Dr. Bausman was honored as a Fellow of the American Institute of Constructors. He continues to serve on the peer review boards for the American Institute of Constructors, the International Journal of Construction Education and Research, and the Associated Schools of Construction. Dr. Bausman also continues to serve as an Instructor for the Project Manager Academy offered by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. Finally, Dennis remains a Member of the National Panel of Neutrals (Arbitrators) for the American Arbitration Association.
