  • The AAHE Assessment Research Forum and the Pearce Center are co-sponsoring the National Research Coalition on Electronic Portfolio Learning. For each of the next three years, a group of up to 10 institutions will collaborate on research projects that explore and document the learning encouraged through electronic portfolios. Specifically, colleagues from across the country will have the opportunity to (1) identify key questions about the impact of eportfolios on learning, (2) determine appropriate methodologies for pursuing answers to these questions, and (3) implement and report the research.

We have begun the process of establishing an annual cycle for the coalition. Our initial planning meeting was held at the AAHE Assessment Conference in June. The follow up meeting for the first cohort was held on Clemson's campus in the new Studio on August 5 and 6, 2004. Members will be meeting again at the National Conference on Higher Education in Atlanta (March 2005). Applications for the second cohort will be available this fall. Please check back frequently. If you have questions about the Research Coalition, please contact Barbara Cambridge (bcambridge@aahe.org) or Kathleen Yancey (kyancey@clemson.edu).
