Dr. Thompson received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington and his B.A. from The Evergreen State College. Allen's primary research interests concern ethical, aesthetic, and metaphysical questions in environmental philosophy and questions about naturalism and practical reason in neo-Aristotelian ethics. Recent publications include "Natural Goodness and Abandoning the Economy of Value" in Ethics, Place & Environment 11:2, "Responsibility for the End of Nature" in Ethics & the Environment 14:1, and "Radical Hope for Living Well in a Warmer World" in the Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics 23:1. He is presently editing a book entitled The Virtues of the Future: Climate Change and the Challenge of Restoring Humanity.
