EDUCATION: Duncan holds B.S., M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees, all in Chemical Engineering from University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.
EXPERIENCE: Duncan has over 20 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry. During his career, he has worked for Bemis, Printpack and Alcan Packaging, all converters of flexible packaging. He has served in Process Engineering, Product Development, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, working with food and pharmaceutical packaging. Duncan joined Clemson's Department of Packaging Science in October 2004.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: PKGSC 430: Converting for Flexible Packaging, PKGSC 804: Flexible Packaging, Converting lab equipment.
RESEARCH TOPICS: Dr. Darby's research interests include the materials and processes used for manufacturing flexible packaging and the applications of flexible packaging.
HOBBIES: Duncan and his family enjoy biking, visits to the beach and fishing.
