About

Welcome Letter

Welcome to the Department of Agricultural Sciences. The Agricultural Sciences Department is comprised of three program areas that include Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, and Agricultural Mechanization and Business. The Department embodies the vision of Thomas Green Clemson and the mission of the land-grant university by providing programs in the areas of teaching, research, and Extension.

As part of our teaching focus, we currently offer both undergraduate and graduate programs.  Our three undergraduate programs are Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, and Agricultural Mechanization and Business. Our graduate programs are Masters of Agricultural Education (MAGED) (Online only), Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Economics and Statistics, Master of Science (M.S.) in Agriculture with concentrations in either Agricultural Education or Agricultural Systems Management, and then a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agriculture with concentrations in either Agricultural Education or Agricultural Systems Management.

The Department brings the strengths, expertise, and talents of a multidisciplinary faculty and staff to conduct research and apply research-based knowledge through our Extension outreach activities to address agricultural, economic, natural resources, and environmental issues important to South Carolina and beyond. As part of these efforts, we have faculty not only located on campus here in Clemson but also across the state at our various research and education centers including Belle W. Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science in Georgetown, Edisto Research and Education Center in Blackville, Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence, Sandhill Research and Education Center in Columbia and the South Carolina Water Resources Center in Pendleton.

If you would like to learn more about our Department and its many Programs, please call at 864-656-3250 or email us at AGSCIENCE@clemson.edu. We would love to hear from you and have you visit our Department.
