The Clemson University Equine Center (CUEC) supports equine teaching, extension and research efforts synergistically. The CUEC provides a “real-world” experience for Animal and Veterinary Sciences students focusing on pre-veterinary and equine business courses, as well as co-curricular activities for various clubs and organizations such as the CU Equestrian Team.
Students have the opportunity to perform hands-on activities to prepare them for a career in the equine industry through formal course work, immersion activities, on-farm internships and more. The CUEC also serves as the equine physiology research laboratory, focusing on applied reproduction, exercise science, nutrition and management questions that impact the horse industry. Outreach programs are held at the Center to serve SC constituents to further educate and promote our State's horse industry.
The Equine Center maintains a sizeable herd of Quarter Horses, Paints, Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods. These horses support the teaching, research, and extension missions. CUEC sells young stock as well as select riding horses and broodmares through private treaty. Please contact us or visit our Facebook page for more information about our sale horses.
Tours are available M-F at 3 pm or by appointment.
