Clemson University Nutrition, Diet and Health Outreach Programs help people improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and knowledge to work.
Why Nutrition, Diet, and Health Outreach?
Current national health trends reflect:
- increases in adult and childhood overweight and obesity rates
- low levels of physical activity
- low nutritional quality of diets
- increases in obesity-related diseases like diabetes
Local efforts of nutrition and health educators, collectively working with people of the community toward a single goal, can ultimately improve the overall health of the nation.
Our Accomplishments
Through partnerships in our communities, we have been able to:
- Provide reliable nutrition, diet and health information across a variety of media including radio, television, and Internet
- Provide nutrition education in a variety of settings, including community centers, schools, and churches
Our Nutrition, Diet and Health Outreach Programs continually seek ways improve the health and well-being of the people of South Carolina.
