FACT

All of our ice cream is made on campus using the original Clemson ice cream formula and frozen in Newman Hall by Clemson students.

FICTION

You must be a Food Science major to work with the '55 Exchange.

Any and all majors are welcome to apply to join our team.

FACT

We are a completely student-run, self-sustaining operation.

FICTION

We sell blue cheese flavored ice cream.

However, we sell Clemson blue cheese, including dressing, wedges, krumbles, and wheels.

FACT

The name, '55 Exchange, represents a gift from Clemson's Class of 1955, which enabled the opening of our store front and has helped to introduce Clemson ice cream to the next generation of the Clemson family.

FICTION

Our ice cream is made with Clemson cow's milk.

Our proprietary mix is custom manufactured to our original specifications for fat content and pure cane sugar by a private company using milk from various farms. Our students receive the unfrozen mix at Newman Hall and then convert it into Clemson ice cream using a small batch freezing process.
