 Profile

Dr. Hitchcock is stationed in coastal Georgetown, SC at the Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science. He holds a 75% Research, 25% Extension appointment in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (AES) and a joint appointment in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (EEES). He manages and conducts research projects and conveys information related to watershed hydrology, water quality, stormwater management, ecological engineering, and sustainable water resources practices. Dr. Hitchcock investigates ecohydrological design solutions for coastal water resource protection and conservation at varying spatial and temporal scales with multiple partners and collaborators. He advises graduate students and supervises summer undergraduate student interns.

He is also the lead instructor for the Post-Construction BMP Inspector Certification course (see link below) and an instructor for the Master Pond Manager course.

Dr. Hitchcock is a registered professional civil engineer in South Carolina.
