Fire and Emergency Medical Services is the designated hazardous materials emergency response agency in addition to supervising overall emergency incident management operations. All personnel are trained to a minimum of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 Operations response and first responds to all hazardous materials spills or leaks within the response area. Hazardous material technicians are on staff and available to respond with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to incidents.
EHS is tasked with the responsibility of oversight and regulatory compliance with all hazardous materials on campus. EHS maintains a comprehensive safety plan which includes a response plan for hazardous material emergencies.
