What is Cascade?

Cascade is a Web-based content management system (CMS) developed by Hannon Hill to support the creation and maintenance of Clemson University Web sites.

Benefits
Cascade provides Web content managers who have basic to advanced knowledge of Web site best practices an efficient way to keep their Web content fresh from anywhere they have Internet access. It allows for timely publishing, easy updates and enhanced search-engine ranking, and helps with Section 508 compliance. Sites created in Cascade are published to the University's main Web server.

An easy-to-use Web site best practices manual can be found at www.apple.com. You may also download a pdf of OWS's Cascade tutorial or visit our OWS Forum.

Users
Clemson University employees who are the Responsible University Official (RUO) for a public Web site at “clemson.edu” can work with OWS to get their websites migrated to Cascade. Please see our "Services" home page for detailed descriptions of packages offered.

For larger sites with multiple users, Top-Level RUO's can request access for those users. There is a limit of one userid per person needing access and limits for total new users per site. RUO's please see our Cascade "Requests" page for more information.
