What is a Tiger 1 Card?

The Tiger 1 Card is your official university ID and so much more. Review the list below to learn more about what your Tiger 1 Card can do:

About your Tiger 1 Card

The Tiger 1 Card is a necessity of every day campus life. Always remember to carry your Tiger 1 Card with you at all times. Many departments use the Tiger 1 Card as a means to grant access to their information and services. From the libraries using the Tiger 1 Card to allow you to check out library books, to a teacher requiring to see your Tiger 1 Card to take a test, to CCIT requiring it to allow you to purchase discounted software, the Tiger 1 Card is a necessity of every day campus life. Always remember to carry your Tiger 1 Card with you at all times.

If you are a new student (freshman or transfer) you will receive your card during the summer orientation program. If you do not attend an orientation, please visit the Tiger 1 Card Office on or after August 15, 2008, to receive your personal Tiger 1 Card.

The first card is issued free of charge. All subsequent cards are $20.00 each.

How to Get a Tiger 1 Card

The Tiger 1 Card office is located at in the Lobby of Fike Recreation Center. First card is free to students, faculty, and staff.

Applicant Instructions

New students

If attending Undergraduate Student Orientation: You need to bring a photo ID (driver's license, state issued ID card or passport) and your student profile. The student profile will be given to you when you check in for orientation. There is no charge for your first ID card.

If NOT attending Undergraduate Student Orientation and all Graduate Students: You must be registered for at least one class during the current semester to qualify for a student ID. Bring a photo ID (driver's license, state issued ID card or passport). There is no charge for your first ID card.

Faculty and staff

First check with your departmental HR contact to make sure that you are entered into the university's HR system and that you have an employee ID number. Once that is in place, bring a photo ID (driver's license, state issued ID card or passport) to the ID office. There is no charge for your first ID card.

Your valid Tiger 1 Card provides you access to facilities, programs and services offered by the university.

Meal Plans / Dining Halls

Your Tiger 1 Card is also your access to your meal plan. Meal plans are a smart and convenient way for you to save money. This is because an average dining meal costs less, some locations offers unlimited portions, and we have more variety. If you purchase a meal plan, you get great tasting, healthy meals plus money deposited in your account if you purchase a PLUS plan.

Regular session (Fall and Spring Semester) are outlined on the Campus Services website.

There are no mid-session drops or changes for Maymester or Summer Session meal plans.

Library

The Library requires your Tiger 1 Card with a barcode printed on the card to check out books.

Card Access

Your Tiger 1 Card may be used to obtain access to various academic buildings, computer labs, or Residence Halls on campus. Your card will, however, only provide access to a building or lab to which you have been specifically authorized.

Residence hall exterior doors are locked 24 hours a day seven days a week. Residence hall students have 24-hour card access to their own building. Protect your Tiger 1 Card. It is your key, your checkbook, and your identity. Don't loan it or lose it!

Fike

Your valid Tiger 1 Card provides you access to all the facilities, programs and services offered by Campus Recreation. If your fees are paid and you are a student taking 6 hours or more in the fall and/or spring semesters and 3 hours in the summer, you may gain entrance to all facilities, register for programs and check out equipment. You may use the debit function to purchase guest passes, rent a locker or even purchase a drink from one of the vending machines. The Tiger 1 Card is the only card that can do all these things!

I have lost my Tiger 1 Card

A lost, stolen or unauthorized Card must be reported immediately to our Online Card Office, in person at the Tiger 1 Card Office or by telephone at (864) 656-0763. The Cardholder will be responsible for all usage of the Card prior to proper notification of the Tiger 1 Card Office as provided covered in the Tiger 1 Card Terms and Conditions form signed at issue of card.

A charge of $20 will be imposed for lost all lost cards. Stolen cards with proof of loss (ie a police report) required at time of replacement will cost $10 otherwise the cost to replace a stolen card is $20. Damaged cards presented at time of replacement will cost $10. No charge will be imposed for a card that breaks due to normal wear and tear or for a card on which the magnetic stripe no longer works.

Suspend Your Card

If you temporarily suspend activity on your Tiger 1 Card, you must get it reinstated in person at the Tiger 1 Card Office.
