The Clemson University Purchasing Department has a “preferred vendor contract” with a Carlson Wagonlit office in Atlanta. The cost is $10 per transaction, and all communication is done using their Web site, www.carlsonwagonlit.com. After creating a Corporate Customer Profile, the site allows you to build identical itineraries for multiple passengers; input frequent flyer, hotel and rental car program ID numbers; and accumulate discounts and bonus dividends for frequent use.

University employees who are traveling on official business should check with several sources to determine the least-cost fare and best schedule. Internet resources such as Expedia.com, Orbitz.com, Cheapfares.com, Travelocity.com and the numerous other travel sites, as well as individual airline Web sites, provide a wealth of information.
