President's Volunteer Service Award

America has a long, proud history of volunteer service. The President's Volunteer Service Award gives Presidential recognition to individuals who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service each year. These national awards are based on the following levels:

Young Adults ages 15-25

Gold:  250+ hours
Silver:  175-249 hours
Bronze:  100-174 hours

Adults ages 26 and up

Gold:  500+ hours
Silver:  250-499 hours
Bronze:  100-249 hours

The President's Volunteer Service Award is issued by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation. All award recipients receive a personalized certificate of achievement, a congratulatory letter from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, and, for a small fee, an official President's Award pin. Individuals who complete 4,000 hours or more of volunteer service will be recognized with the President's Call to Service Award.

Clemson students are eligible to record their volunteer service hours through Clemson University by registering as a Clemson University participant. Simply register and provide some basic information about yourself. Once your registration has been processed you will be issued a username and password and a link to the PVSA login page where you will track your service hours. Please remember that while almost all volunteer service contributes to eligibility for the award, activities should be unpaid and may not include court-ordered community service. The Clemson University award year runs April 1 to March 31. All hours must be entered into the PVSA system by March 31 to be considered. Recipients will be recognized at the Student Affairs Awards Ceremony held in late April.
