Vision Statement:
We envision a campus and community committed to a high quality of life free of the impact of substance abuse and its adverse effects.
Mission:
Promote cultural change by engaging in research, education, coalition building,
environmental management, interventions, and other appropriate activities to reduce
high risk ATOD use primarily among high school and college students in the community.
Community Needs Assessment
EMpower Clemson is committed to meeting the needs of our community. We are currently conducting a community needs assessment survey in order to determine new alcohol safety policy and procedures. Our goal is to encourage the Clemson Community to make responsible choices and good decisions in all aspects of their life.
Overall Goals for Clemson Community Coalition and Campus Safety/Prevention efforts:
· Identify and address factors that contribute to student binge drinking or high risk drinking.
· Increase “perception of risk” of ATOD as it relates to grades/behaviors.
· Increase partnerships and communication between law enforcement groups.
· Increase partnership between campus and other community members in general.
· Decrease “violations” due to high risk drinking.
· Increase awareness of the coalition as a “partner” to prevention and safety
efforts (i.e. positive marketing).
· Increase awareness and consistency of the overall alcohol and drug prevention programming.
· Continued review and enforcement of policies (i.e. bars, campuses, and community).
Underage Drinking Laws:
