University Housing is committed to assisting Clemson University in achieving its goals. It is with this in mind that University Housing has adjusted its Continuing Student Sign-Up Process to align with University priorities. Research has shown that students who live on-campus as sophomores perform better academically and graduate at higher rates than those who live off campus. Also, sophomores benefit greatly from easy access to University services.
Therefore, to further assist rising sophomores with being successful Clemson students, the University will give priority to any rising sophomore who wishes to live on campus if they participate in the specified sign-up periods. University Housing has created this sign-up process to meet University goals while still reserving spaces for juniors and seniors in areas that have been most popular for upperclass students. The staggered time frame allows University Housing staff to assign each population in turn, and gives us an opportunity to work with sophomores, juniors and seniors separately to best meet their needs.
University Housing is pleased to offer, for the first time ever, year round housing for all students. If you are interested in living on-campus all year, please contact the Housing Office for more details regarding this new and exciting opportunity. Sign-up will begin on Wednesday, February 1 and run through Monday, February 13. In order to sign up, please visit Mell Hall sometime between February 1 and February 13.
How will priority be given for assignments?
Priority will be given to groups who will completely fill a suite or an apartment. Between groups of equal size, a lottery will determine priority.
Will It’s Your Choice be held?
No. Since we are introducing a new sign-up process, It’s Your Choice has been phased out.
