The Resident Director (RD) position is a full-time graduate student who supervises a staff of Resident Assistants and Desk Assistants. This position is a graduate assistantship, with preference given to students who plan to enroll in the Master of Education Student Affairs program.
The Resident Assistant (RA) lives and works with a group of 30 to 60 students in a residence hall community. This position involves personal advising; management of a floor/area of undergraduate students; administrative duties including community desk duty and room inventory. The position calls for a person with a degree of maturity, flexibility and effective communication skills for confronting inappropriate behaviors or infractions and conducting programming.

A summer resident assistant oversees the facilities, residents and operations of an apartment block to create an environment that meets the residents' needs for growth, safety and security. The overall goal of a summer school resident assistant is to facilitate effective community building, assist with opening and closing during summer sessions, and work desk hours in an overall effort to assist students with their academic and social development.
