University Housing

Visiting Faculty Reservation & Usage Policy

Housing for visiting faculty was created in response to the University's need for extended stay housing for visiting faculty and officials.  Located on the 7th floor of the historic Clemson House, visiting faculty housing consists of six fully furnished rooms with the convenience of on-campus living.

Eligibility

Individuals who are working for or visiting Clemson University on behalf of a department or academic program are eligible to occupy Visiting Faculty Housing.

Occupancy

A minimum of two weeks and a maximum of 18 weeks are required.  Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis, depending on occupancy.

Reservation Procedures

The sponsoring University department should submit the Visiting Faculty Reservation Form on behalf of the visiting official through the online form located at the bottom of the page, by fax at 864-656-7796, or in person/interoffice mail at 100 Mauldin Hall.

In the event that demand for housing exceeds space available, the Office of the Provost will determine housing priority.

All payments made by credit card or check must be made at 100 Mauldin Hall, during normal business hours at least one week prior to check-out.

All cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the scheduled arrival date.  If the cancellation is made less than two weeks prior to the scheduled arrival date, this may result in a cancellation charge equal to one week's rate.

Check-In/Check-Out

Guests may check-in at the Clemson House front desk 7:30am-midnight daily.  Guests must check-out before 11:00am on the date of departure.  Alternate check-out arrangements must be made in advance with the Housing Special Programs Office.

If a guest is planning to arrive after midnight and before 7:30am, they will NOT be allowed to check-in.  Alternate arrangements at a local hotel must be made for the night.

Room Keys/Building Access

Guests will be issued a room key and building access fob at check-in.  The fob will be used to gain entry into Clemson House after desk hours (midnight-7:30am) and onto the building elevator at all times.  The room key and fob must be returned to the front desk at check-out.  If a guest loses a room key and/or fob, the department will be charged $50/item.

Smoking/Damages

Smoking is not allowed inside the building or rooms.  If there are damages to the faculty rooms from smoke or any other reasons, the department will be charged for the costs associated with repairing or replacing items in the building.

Parking

It is the sponsoring department and/or visiting faculty's responsibility to obtain proper parking permits for the duration of their stay in Clemson House.  If the visiting faculty guest will arrive for check-in after business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm) for Parking Services, Housing Special Programs must be notified in advance and will have a temporary guest parking pass available at the front desk upon arrival.
