Beginning in the fall of 2010, Clemson House will become a freshman residential area.
Perhaps the most unusual of Clemson's residence halls is the multipurpose Clemson House. Space for approximately 400 undergraduate students is available, and men and women are housed in separate rooms and apartments on each floor.
Originally built as a hotel, the building has a variety of room designs, including double-occupancy rooms, a few private rooms and apartments that accommodate two or four students. None of the living options in the Clemson House have a private bedroom. The space adjacent to the bathroom in a two-person apartment is a closet/dressing area.
Students participating in the Civics and Service House live on the second floor.
