The Gantt Center for Student Life provides many forms of orientation to life in the United States and particularly to Clemson for international students. Online resources, personal meetings along with general orientation programs all provide ways for students to become acclimated to Clemson's unique culture and way of life.
As a future Clemson University student, it is important to make sure you have applied for admission to the university and know what resources are available to you through the Graduate School. Information about Clemson University, GRE and TOEFL, Fellowships and Awards, and Health Insurance can be found here.
Orientation programs at the beginning of each semester are
mandatory for all new international students. Very important
information is covered in these sessions, including: taxation and
employment, banking, health care, English assistance, visas and
immigration and much more. It is very important that you attend this
session. Upcoming orientation information, including dates, can be
found here. Following the fall orientation session, students are asked
to complete the following survey

As a student who will soon be attending Clemson University you probably have lots of questions about the university, the community and life in the U.S. in general. Here, you can access a Word document that gives a lot of information about these matters! If you have questions about immigration contact the Office of International Affairs.
Throughout the year the Gantt Center for Student Life offers follow-up orientation sessions on a variety of issues. This is a way for new and continuing students to gain more information about different areas. Past topics have included, health insurance, cultural questions, sexual harassment and getting a S.C. driver's license. You can find out about upcoming Orientation 102 sessions here.
At the fall orientation sessions the Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Center for Student Life brings in continuing international and U.S. students to assist our new international students in the orientation process. If you are interested in being a mentor you can access the sign-up form and other information here.
