Hours of Operations: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

For the safety and convenience of all Clemson University students, faculty, and staff, Tiger Transit offers service to and from any location on Clemson’s campus. Tiger Transit does not operate when Clemson University is not in session and may be unable to provide service during peak traffic times surrounding home football games.

Tiger Transit drivers are members of the Student Patrol, a student organization affiliated with the Clemson University Police Department (CUPD). All members of the Student Patrol must pass a police security background check. In addition, supervisors of the Student Patrol interviews each new member. After this process is complete and references are checked, the new member begins a structured training program to prepare him or her for service.

Student patrol Officers (SPOs) carry two-way, hand-held radios to maintain contact with the CUPD dispatchers. Tiger Transit Vehicles have these radios installed as well.

Work assignments for Student Patrol are flexible and, of course, involve working late hours. To apply to be a driver, click here.

Tiger Transit rides can be requested three ways:

Going to tigertransit.clemson.edu

Calling Tiger Transit at 864-656-3333

Using the my.clemson app

For each method, make sure to include your current location, desired destination, number of people in your party, and a brief description of you or your vehicle. By using the my.clemson app, you are able to track your ride in real time.

  • Transportation is only provided to and from on-campus locations.

  • Transportation is not provided to groups of more than three persons.

  • Transportation is not provided to persons visibly intoxicated.

  • Be specific about where you will be waiting and be ready when Tiger Transit arrives.

  • If you decide a ride is no longer necessary, please call and cancel your request.

  • Rides may be delayed by traffic or inclement weather; please be patient.

Tiger Transit reserves the right to refuse transportation to persons who behave improperly during transport, are abusive to Tiger Transit personnel or who abuse the service.

Tiger Transit vehicles are now available to be rented for University affiliated departments or organizations for special event transportation. Rental costs include the vehicle cost, a driver, and fuel. Prices are as follows:

A. It is a small bus or white passenger van with the Tiger Transit logo on it.

A. Unfortunately, we cannot take any passengers to locations that are off the Clemson University campus.

A. Tiger Transit serves a large number of riders. We will get to your pick-up location as soon as we possibly can. Please make sure you are visible as the Tiger Transit vehicle approaches. By tracking the driver assigned to you via the ride request system on any internet enabled device, you can get a better idea of the progress of your ride request.

A. Sometimes the vehicle reaches capacity. We will return to your pick-up location as soon as possible. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this might cause. It is also possible that the vehicle you saw was not assigned to pick up your call. If you use the driver tracking feature of the ride request page you can know where your ride is as soon as it is assigned to a driver.

A. The buses are routed by a combination of the driver and the dispatcher trying to provide the timeliest service for the largest amount of people. The drop-offs are managed with that concept in mind. If we operated by a first-on-first-off concept everyone's wait time would be negatively affected and the availability of the system in general would decline.
