Campus Pack

Blackboard availability will end on May 17, 2017. After that date, Canvas will be the only learning management system at Clemson University. Campus Pack functions will not be available in Canvas, although many of the functions are available through Canvas features. As a result, we would like to highlight the key Campus Pack features and solutions that you can use in Canvas.

Blogs/Journals

Canvas does not have a built-in journaling or blogging tool, so reevaluation of how you are using the tools in Blackboard may help determine the best solution.

Do you want students to share their writing only with you, the instructor?

Consider setting up an assignment in Canvas for the specific topic or have a single assignment for multiple submissions throughout the semester.

Do you want students to share their writing with classmates?

Consider setting up a discussion board in Canvas for the specific topic or have a running discussion board topic.

Do you want students to share their writing publically?

A third-party blogging solution like Blogger or Wordpress may be the best option.

Podcast

Ensemble is a video and audio hosting solution available free for Clemson faculty. From Ensemble, you can obtain a link which you can place directly in Canvas for students to access. A deeper integration between Ensemble and Canvas is also in the works.

Wiki

Pages in Canvas serve the same function as Wikis in Campus Packs. To learn more about pages and how to use them, visit the Canvas Guide.

If you have questions about any of these tools or wish to receive additional assistance or guidance, we encourage you to connect with us at one of our training sessions or contact ithelp@clemson.edu.
