Strategically located midway between Atlanta and Charlotte on the 1-85 economic corridor, Clemson University is the land-grant university of South Carolina and, according to US News & World Report, one of the country's top 25 national public universities. The University has nearly 20,000 students (including nearly 16,000 undergraduates) who can select from 80 undergraduate and 110 graduate degree programs. Clemson employs over 1100 full-time faculty and has an annual budget expenditure of over $900 million.
The College of Business and Behavioral Science is AACSB-accredited and unique among public Institutions in that it combines traditional social and behavioral science disciplines with applied business disciplines. The College offers 4 PhD programs, 9 Master's programs (including an MBA program administered on the downtown Greenville campus) and 9 Bachelor's degree programs. The College is home to the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, the Institute for the study of Capitalism, the Human Factors Institute and two Centers, China Studies and Corporate Learning. The College enrolls 4740 students and employs about 164 full-time faculty members.
Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will provide leadership and oversight for the strategic, academic, intellectual, and administrative affairs of the College and is charged with advancing its research, teaching and external relations missions. The Dean will assume a leadership role for building partnerships, effective external fund-raising and for building and maintaining strong relationships with the College alumni and its stakeholders. Critical to this position is responsibility for the College's continued growth, academic excellence and national and international prominence through effective planning and management. The Dean will have unquestioned integrity, exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to relate to and energize the school's many constituencies.
