Clemson University Graphic Communications Department is pleased to present the 87th Annual IGAEA Summer Conference

Summer 2012 will usher in a blockbuster sequel, as the 87th Annual International Graphic Arts Education Association summer conference returns to Clemson, South Carolina from Sunday, July 22 to Thursday, July 26, 2012.

IGAEA members that register for the 87th Annual Conference by May 25th will be given access to participate in the 2012 Mailing, Fulfillment and Marketing Service Webinar Series. This is a $400 webinar you can attend for “free” if you are registered for the conference by May 25th. More than 50% of everything that is printed goes into the mail. Whether you are in design, production or sales, mailing is part of your student’s future. For more detail on the webinar series, click here.

It is sure to be the networking event of the summer for teachers in the graphic communications, design and related fields. The conference is typically held on a college campus to keep expenses down. This event brings together educators from around the country to share their ideas, learn the new trends to phase into their classes and to interact with the industry representatives.

Clemson University is hosting the conference this summer and plans to bring the participants not just into the back lots, but right on set to experience workflow and technology. Each teacher will be assured a leading role in order to experience first-hand this action-packed adventure. No stunt doubles will be used and all will be directed to bring scripts and props back to their own classrooms for the big show in their own hometowns. The mission statement and philosophy of Clemson’s Department of Graphic Communications is, “To develop dedicated, practical problem-solving people for the printing, publishing, imaging, packaging and allied industries.” The faculty at Clemson are taking that same approach in planning the content for this event.
