 Profile

I\'m trained as a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety disorders. My research interests began in the area of cognition and fear, specifically threat appraisals. In 2003, I began to wonder about a different way of coping with threat: courage. My research in courage has more recently led me to think about situational affordances (cues that suggest and allow for action) in general and I\'m currently working to develop a taxonomy of situational affordances.

 Research Interests

My major research interests involve courage, emotions, and situational demands on behavior.
