Principles of Management Accounting
ProfileDr. Frances Kennedy joined the Clemson faculty in 2001 and teaches managerial accounting. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Kennedy worked in both public accounting and industry. While at Rubbermaid, she gained her experience as an accounting manager in a manufacturing plant, division financial liaison with manufacturing, and as a financial analyst on a new product development team. Her research focuses on performance measurements and control systems in lean enterprises and she has published in both academic and professional journals. Dr. Kennedy was presented the 2009 Lean Six Sigma Leadership Award from the International Lean Six Sigma Conference and the Lean Accounting Summit’s 2007 award recognizing her efforts promoting lean accounting both in the classroom and in the profession. She is also the 2006 recipient of the Silver Lybrand Medal awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants and the 2006 Award of Merit from the International Federation of Accountants for her contributions to the field of management accounting.
Dr. Kennedy's research interests include performance measures, management control systems, lean systems in manufacturing and healthcare.
