 Profile

Marvin Ward is a Human Resources professional with over thirty years experience. This Senior Human Resources leader\'s experience and strengths lie in employee development, employee relations, program management, acquisitions and restructuring and covers both domestic and international arenas. He built the foundation for his Human Resources management career at Litton Industries before joining Air Products and Chemicals where he served as Human Resources Manager for the Southwest Region wherein he managed the HR functions for over 600 employees in 17 locations which expanded when he was promoted to Manager Field Operations which included over 4,000 employees in over 200 locations, and culminated in his group wide role of Manager of Human Resources for the Chemicals Group. Upon moving to Carrier Corporation in Syracuse NY as Director of Human Resources, he spearheaded revamping the Human Resources department and developed a performance enhancement and management system and management reward program while managing a restructuring process leading to a plant closure and redeployment of the manufacturing operation to existing facilities. Marvin was then asked to serve as Vice President of Human Resources for Carrier Refrigeration Operations where he directed the HR function for this $3 billion global division, which employed over 13,000 employees in 27 countries. In 2002, Marvin and his family relocated to Greenville SC where he served as Vice President Human Resources for Rockwell Automation Power Systems. Marvin’s focus in this $800 million manufacturer was on acquiring, developing and retaining key talent. He identified key talent via revamped performance management programs and managed the design of learning opportunities. In 2007 Rockwell Automation Power Systems was acquired by Baldor Electric Corporation where Marvin served as Vice President Human Resources for the Dodge branded product line and all international operations to include Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Marvin\'s vast community involvement includes board seats for United Way of Greenville County, African American Leadership Council, Urban League of the Upstate, Meyer Center, Palmetto Society, and Holly Tree Country Club.
