Business in Paris

Located on La Defense in Paris, France students take courses through IESEG.

IESEG Business Students, FranceIÉSEG School of Management is one of the top Business Schools in France. IESEG represents one of the most respected and academically rigorous higher education institutions in the world.

Who: This program is open to all business minors and business majors who have taken ACCT 2010 and ECON 2120 and maintain a 2.8 GPA

Where: Students study within the historical building the Grande Arche on La Defense in Paris, France. A metro stop located directly outside of the campus can easily transport students to the center of Paris at any time day or night. Student apartments are located within a 5-10 minute walk to campus at a local suburb called Courbevoie. All student apartments are single and include Internet access, private bath, desk, closet, wardrobe, bed and bedding materials.

When: The program closely follows the regular Clemson spring semester, extending into May a bit longer due to IESEG’s extended exam period. For spring 2014 students will arrive in Paris on January 4th. All exams end on May 23rd, depending on your enrollment your exams may finish earlier than this.

What Can I Take: All students will be enrolled in IS 2100, which combines French Language and European Business Culture. French language is available at all levels from beginner to advanced. Additionally the following business courses will be offered as part of the program:

  • Foundational business courses that complete a minor in business: MGT 2010 Principles of Management, ECON 2110 Microeconomics, MKT 3010 Principles of Marketing, FIN 3060 Corporate Finance and LAW 3220 Business Law.
  • Upper level business courses: FIN 4980 Special Topics in Finance, ECON 4980 Special Topics in Economics, MGT 3900 Operations Management, MGT 4000 Organizational Behavior, MGT 4900 Special Topics in Management, MKT 4200 Professional Selling, MKT 4270 International Marketing and MKT 4950 Special Topics in Marketing.

Europe IESEG Clemson Students with Clemson FlagHow much does it cost: All students will pay in-state tuition and a program fee of approximately $4,000. The program fee covers IESEG tuition, housing, taxes and fees required of international students in France, as well as other program related costs. Students should also expect to spend their own personal expenses on utility bills (approximately €30/month), housing deposit (this may be returned at the end of the semester), student metro pass (€38/month), food, groceries, and other personal expenses.

How Do I Apply: Students must complete a Study Abroad Application and turn it into the Study Abroad Office in E-301 Martin Hall prior to the application deadline of October 1st. All students must pay the application deposit of $750 (in the form of a check made out to Clemson University) in order for your application to be accepted and considered.
