Permanent members of the Council on Community and Diversity comprise a representative cross-section of the University’s faculty, staff and students. They include the University’s president, who serves as both an administrative member and head of the council; the president’s designee; the dean of students; the chief human resources officer; the executive director of the Gantt Intercultural Center; the Americans with Disabilities Act coordinator; and the director of access and equity.
The council chair is selected by the president with the approval of the members. Term members include representatives appointed by the director of athletics and by the respective chair/president of the Provost’s Advisory Council, President’s Commission on the Status of Women, President’s Commission on the Status of Black Faculty and Staff, Faculty Senate, Extension Senate, Staff Senate, Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate Student Government, Clemson Gay-Straight Alliance, International Student Association, Student Government Council on Diversity Affairs and Black Graduate Student Association.
