This information is for any department or person who purchased the AppleCare extended warranty for their new Apple product. The item may be a MacBook, iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.
When you get the extended warranty via AppleCare, you will receive a small, white box. You must open this box and follow the enclosed instructions to activate your warranty within a year of the purchase of your Apple item.
If you do not activate your warranty within this time period, you will lose your extended warranty, no exceptions. It is critical to do this as soon as possible, before the box is mislaid or you forget the exact date of purchase.
Note: AppleCare can be purchased anytime with the first year of your Apple product ownership. However you must register the AppleCare within that same first year of ownership.
Apple products generally come with complimentary telephone technical support for 90 days after purchase and a one-year limited warranty. The AppleCare Protection Plan extends your service coverage. Clemson also has the added advantage of hosting an authorized support center for laptops and desktops here on campus.
AppleCare does not cover accidental damage. If you need coverage for accidental damage, it can be purchased from Safeware Insurance Agency (http://safeware.com/Clemson).
