Phase 4 Effort

In 2011 Clemson University began an IT initiative to improve our management of identity information for employees and students.   Two main goals of this initiative are to have one unique ID# for each Clemson user regardless of their university roles as well as one username for all new Clemson users starting this fall regardless of their university roles.     In July 2012 each university employee and student was assigned a new cross-reference identifier also known as an Xid (for example, C12345678).  Then in December 2012 each employee and student received a new TigerOne card displaying the Xid on the front of the card.  The final phase of this initiative will occur in August as all new campus users will receive one username regardless of their university roles.   For those of us already associated with the university, none of our usernames will be deleted or inactivated.  However, the username associated with our primary affiliation has been flagged as our primary username.

Student Impact

Below are the ways you will be affected beginning the 2013 fall semester …

  • You will always choose student when prompted for “Print as” on a PawPrints printer.
  • You will view your online paycheck via your student username.
  • You will receive all official university email communication via your student username.
  • If you are a Teaching Assistant, you will use your student username for managing your courses.

Employee Impact

Below are the ways you will be affected beginning the 2013 fall semester …

  • You will use your employee username to register for classes in iRoar.
  • In Blackboard, you will use your employee username for course work and all email correspondence with your instructor and classmates.
  • You will receive all official university email communication via your employee username.
  • The exception would be for situations where you are printing on a PawPrints printer.  In those cases you need to choose student when prompted for “Print as”.
