General FAQ

What do I do if I am injured at work?

A:  In case of accidental injury, it is an employee's responsibility to notify his/her supervisor or department head immediately. Any injury, no matter how slight, must be reported.  If the injured employee or his/her supervisor judges that medical attention is needed, the supervisor must call ComPendium Services at 1-877-709-2667 to report the injury and assist in completing the First Report of Injury located here. The employee will be referred to Redfern Health Center. In the event of life or limb-threatening emergencies, treatment should be sought at the nearest emergency facility.  Please see http://www.clemson.edu/administration/ogc/risk/workerscomp.html for the complete policy.

What is a TLP?

A:  A time limited position is an employee that is hired specifically to perform duties related to a contract or other special project.  As its name implies, the time limited position is only viable as long as the contract is in force or other special project is active.  As long as the employee remains in good standing and performs as hired, the employee receives benefits much like a permanent employee.  Please see the linked attachment for a comparative grid of employee types and associated benefits.
