Pre-Conference Condor Tutorial
In this tutorial, we gave an overview of Clemson University's campus-wide Condor based grid. Participants created their own Condor submit machine, and then went through a series of exercises that helped them understand the capabilities of high throughput computing. Condor, which is maintained by Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT), connects nearly 1,700 Windows-based PCs in the computer labs, library and other Clemson facilities. By harvesting unused cycles from networked computers, Condor vastly reduces computing times. It has already greatly impacted Clemson's research capabilities. Since its inception, Clemson's Condor pool has provided researchers with over 3.4 million CPU hours.
