Goal: Our university requires a modern wireless network and an underlying network infrastructure capable of meeting increased capacity in order to satisfy student and faculty expectations, stay competitive, and encourage innovation.
Objectives: Successfully implement wireless connectivity within all Clemson Residence Halls on Campus through a well communicated, aggressive schedule of wireless access point installations, configurations and tests.
Scope: At this time, the project will provide wireless connectivity within the residence halls. Outdoor or green space and all stairwells within the residence halls are not considered within the scope of this project. Once complete, access to the wireless network will require 802.11AG/WPA2 Enterprise laptop compatibility. Faculty, staff, and students with laptops that do not meet the 802.11AG/WPA2 Enterprise technical standards should access the internet through wired connectivity.
