Voice Mail Instructions
New Voice Mail Service
As you may remember, we recently asked Clemson Voice Mail Users to complete a form stating your preferences for maintaining voice mail on your campus telephone. Due to rising cost and maintenance issues on the current system, CCIT has elected to replace the current voice mail system with a new voice mail platform called Asterisk. The university will benefit from this replacement in several ways with cost savings being at the top of the list.
There are new features with this system that I think will excite you.
- You can now elect to receive email alerts when you have a voice mail. You will still see a voice mail light or hear a stutter dial tone but this added feature will allow you to know that you have a new voice mail message even if you are not in your office.
- You will also have the capability to access and make changes to your voice mail account from anywhere by going to a web interface. There you will be able to set actions, such as: forward your messages, set up your bail out number and change your password.
The migrations to the new voice mail platform were implemented Spring 2010.
