The following instructions explain how to configure Outlook 2007 to check Exchange email using the POP3 protocol. Open your Outlook Account Settings by going to Control Panel, clicking on the Mail icon, and then by clicking New. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and click Next. Check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types box and click Next. Select Internet Email and click Next. Fill out the User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information in the Add New Email Account window as shown below, replacing the name, email address, user name, and password with your personal information. Then click the More Settings button. Select the Outgoing server tab, and be sure My outgoing server SMTP requires authentication is checked. Also be sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected. Nothing else should be selected. Select the Advanced Tab. Be sure Incoming server POP3 is set to 995. Check the This server requires and encrypted connection SSL box. The Outgoing server SMTP should be 25. Use the following type of encrypted connection should be set to None. Be sure the Server Timeout is set to 1 minute. If you would like to leave a copy of your messages on the Exchange server, then check the Leave a copy of messages on the server and select the duration you would like them to remain. Click OK. Click the Test account settings button. If you have input the proper settings, you should see this message. Click close, and youand39re done
